Charles Rose interviewed John Burn and Dexter Filkins on Wednesday, April 9,2008. The concepts discussed during conversation implicitly centered around advocacy favoring against a precipitous withdrawal and expected need for realistic expectation and accommodation by political leaders..... meaning stay in rather than engage in a precipitous withdrawal. An advocacy against a precipitous withdrawal started in 2004, and this 2008. How many more years will it take to withdraw which would not be called a precipitous withdrawal? What happened to the concept of redeployment?
In general, the discussion regarding Iraq demonstrated lack of all rounded views, and definitely lack of knowledge and understanding of other cultures. There were moments of positive reflections, however self serving, self righteous, and presumptuous statements dominated the entire discussion.
